DIY message in a bottle invites

October 10, 2017

I have gotten so many compliments on these invites so, as promised I want to show you the way I made these invites for a client's corporate appreciation event on a sail boat.

Items you'll need:

- small glass bottle with cork included

- custom glass clings

- nautical style twine

- nautical charm

- scissors

- stapler

I ended up getting all these items from www.weddingstar.com they were very prompt and I was able to customize the labels any way I needed to. The twine I got from Michaels in the scrap booking section.

Step 1

Print out your invitations that you are going to roll up into the glass bottle. Tip: make sure they are short enough to fit when the cork is inserted.

Step 2

Take the pre-ordered glass clings and put on all of the bottles.

Step 3

Create the paper roll by rolling as tight as possible. Then tie string around it. I found the easiest way to do this, was to tie it around a sharpie, then slide it off and put the scroll inside the loop.

Step 4

Put the scroll inside and cut the string to just the top of the bottle. Once you have this length you can attach to the bottom of the cork. I found the easiest way to attach was with a stapler. You can also hot glue if you'd like.

Step 5

Tie the string around the outside rim with the charm attached and put the cork on.

You are done! Have fun crafting :)
